Christine Baumgartner filed for divorce after 18 years of marriage, leaving Kevin Costner apparently “stunned” and unprepared.
This week’s bombshell details came to light when Baumgartner filed the petition on Monday, citing “irreconcilable differences.”
Costner’s agency issued a statement in which he said, “It is with great sadness that circumstances beyond his control have taken place which have resulted in Mr. Costner having to participate in a dissolution of marriage action.”
To help them get through this difficult time, “We ask that his, Christine’s, and their children’s privacy be respected.”

In 2004, Costner and Baumgartner were married. Grace and Cayden are the couple’s three children, who are aged 12, 15, and 14. In the case of a divorce, Costner and Baumgartner allegedly plan to share custody of their kids.
There were no reports of a relationship breakdown when the couple was last spotted together in March (as there usually are in such circumstances).
Not only fans, according to sources, were shocked to learn that Baumgartner and Costner’s nearly 20-year marriage was ending.
According to Page Six, Oscar-winning actor and Yellowstone star Kevin Costner was unaware that his wife was considering divorce.
One buddy allegedly went on to say, “Kevin was very surprised by Christine’s actions, he obviously doesn’t want the divorce, and he would take her back.”
He is saddened because he loves her and his kids.

Reports state that the extremely busy 68-year-old Costner spent months away from home in Montana filming his well-known Western series Yellowstone. According to rumors, his absence could have caused issues in his marriage.
The actor’s high-profile $80 million divorce with Cindy Costner took place in 1994 after an actual avalanche of accusations regarding his alleged practice of infidelity. However, according to sources, Costner has not left his bed in the marriage this time.
A friend informed Page Six that cheating wasn’t a problem. The charges, according to a Costner spokeswoman, are “absolutely not true.”
“I don’t know whether Kevin even realizes the reasons,” Costner’s pal observed.
No one was aware of any issues, according to a different person with knowledge of the Yellowstone filming process. On the set, he did not feel alone because he frequently visited his family.
Costner’s alleged $250 million wealth is supposedly protected by a prenup, and Baumgartner’s divorce lawsuit reportedly did not include a request for spousal maintenance.

The Costner buddy who said, “He’s shooting right now, and it’s all very upsetting,” was quoted by Page Six. “You don’t expect your wife to file for divorce when you least expect it,” someone said.
A split of this nature is never simple for the people involved. For Christine and Kevin, we are praying.
