Austin Lee Russell, better known to fans as Chumlee, reportedly informed the judge on Monday that he would accept a plea bargain on charges including drugs and firearms stemming from a police raid on his Las Vegas home in March.
The Las Vegas Review-Journal reports that Russell will enter a guilty plea to one count of attempting to possess a controlled substance. As part of the plea agreement, a second felony weapon charge will be upheld.
Russell also has to complete three years of probation, undergo treatment, and give over any firearms or narcotics found on his property.
During Russell’s arrest on March 9, police allegedly found 12 firearms, a plastic bag containing marijuana, and a small amount of methamphetamine.
According to reports, handguns, rifles, and an MP5 assault rifle were among the weapons found. Police were at Russell’s house investigating a sexual assault. He was not charged in the sexual assault case but was released on bond after posting $62,000.
According to Fox News, the criminal case against Russell, 33, will be dropped if he continues to be trouble-free. If he doesn’t, he may get two to five years in state jail.
When Russell next appears in court, he will enter a plea.
Investigators also found Xanax pills with a prescription in his residence.
According to Russell’s lawyer, David Chesnoff, the reality star is ready to move past the event.
According to a statement from Chesnoff, “We will be reviewing what was allegedly found and whether the alleged search was lawful in a courtroom, not in public.” Austin and I have faith that justice will be served because we have faith in the legal system.
Russell has a reputation for hosting crazy parties.
