In the inaugural episode of her SiriusXM podcast Let’s Chat Off Camera with Kelly Ripa, Ripa said, “It’s very hard being married to someone who is envious.”
Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos’ 26-year marriage has had its ups and downs, including a few challenges that the couple overcame.
The pair discussed their love and how they overcome some difficult times by talking things out in the first edition of Kelly Ripa’s new Sirius XM podcast Let’s Talk Off Camera with Kelly Ripa, which debuted on Wednesday.
51-year-old Consuelos asserted, “It always gets better.” Nothing is impossible if you speak things through and communicate.
Consuelos’ jealousy was the source of their arguments in the past, according to 52-year-old Ripa, who stressed that this did not suggest that they were unconscious of the challenging times.
My biggest problem with you during our marriage — and this isn’t new, ’cause it changed, and I’m not sure whether I changed, you changed, or if it was some mix of change — is that you used to be competitive. It was hard to get that tablet down. Being married to an envious person is difficult. It is not attractive.
Consuelos, she added, frequently had “an inaccurate sense of a scenario” that caused him to feel envy. She remembered how, soon after the couple from All My Children secretly wed in 1996, a server at a Boston restaurant fondly addressed her as a “princess” in Italian.
The older waiter had a great personality. He was at least in his 70s, if not his 80s, according to Ripa. I smiled at the idea that this old man called me a princess. I smiled and handed him my order while looking at him. He departed after you made the decision to fight me severely.
Consuelos, who will succeed Ryan Seacrest as co-host on Live next month, verified the assertion by telling Ripa, “I was upset.”
