Melissa Desch and her 11-year-old daughter, Bella, visited their favorite diner, Wayne Hills Diner in New Jersey, with a group of friends. Bella ordered a milkshake and sent her mother a photo of the receipt, which revealed an unexpected charge for something “extra.”

According to Fox News, the diner has been accused of charging kids an additional fee for after-school snacks. Concerned parent Melissa Desch said, “I was angry because I had been there the week before with a group of five, some kids and some children, and I was not charged this gratuity.” She noticed an 18% charge per child and was disappointed to see the request for gratuity already added to the bill.
