In a heartwarming gesture, a fast-food employee who had been serving her local community with a warm smile for over 30 years received a surprise gift from her customers.
Lisa Bateman, a 60-year-old Burger King employee in Tappahannock, Virginia, was known for greeting her regular customers with an affectionate smile and knowing their orders. Despite having to walk nearly a mile to work every day, regardless of the weather, Bateman remained positive and never took out her exhaustion on any customer.

Her hard work and dedication did not go unnoticed. The Tappahannock community raised funds to buy Bateman a car as a token of appreciation for her positive energy and dedication.
When Bateman finished her work shift one day, a regular customer, Jaki Vazquez, presented her with the car keys and gave her a warm hug. Bateman was overwhelmed by the gesture and shared that seeing the customers happy made her happy.
Despite having no plans to leave her job, Bateman’s love for her community and work was truly heartwarming, and she deserved the appreciation from her customers.
