Four police officers from Slidell, Louisiana decided to grab dinner at Outback Steakhouse while on duty.
The manager and waitress, who knew the officers were regulars, decided to surprise them by comping their $67 meal and leaving a heartfelt note on the receipt thanking them for their service to the community.
The Slidell Police Department posted a picture of the receipt on Facebook, which quickly went viral. The manager and waitress didn’t intend for the gesture to receive so much attention, but they hope it inspires others to show appreciation for those who put their lives on the line every day.

The officers reportedly left a generous tip to show their gratitude.
Acts of appreciation like this remind law enforcement officers why they do what they do and shud be more common than incidents of disrespect.
