Joy Behar, a co-host of the daytime talk show The View on ABC, has announced her plan to retire when her contract expires in 2022 after being part of the show for twenty-one seasons.
Although many people love Behar, her politics leaning left has caused her to rub many people the wrong way. Behar shared her intention to leave the show during an interview with journalist Ramin Setoodeh’s book, The Explosive Inside Story of the View, which will be available in paperback.
However, a representative of the show denied the rumor and stated that Behar would stay if she remained “fabulous” in 2022. Behar was previously fired by ABC in 2013 for being too political but was later brought back as a full-time host. Despite taking a leave of absence due to the coronavirus, she recently resumed her appearances on the show by calling in from her home in the Hamptons.
